GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS
Grade 5B Musical Play


CAST:
Narrators : Aybike, Yusuf, Furkan, Alp, Zeynep, Ceren, Cennet, Nesibe
Goldilocks: Meryem
Baby Bear: Kamila
Papa Bear: Sezayi
Mama Bear: Betul
Goldilocks’ Mother: Nergiz

PROPS:
Large books entitled "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" for Narrators to hold.
Table,
3 bowls of porridge,
3 spoons,
3 chairs (decreasing in size),
3 beds (decreasing in size -- you could use sleeping bags).

COSTUMES:
Brown turtlenecks (for Bears);
tie (for Papa Bear);
bib (for Baby Bear);
little girl costume (for Goldilocks).
Makeup: Black noses for bears,
wig for Goldilocks.

SETTING:
The house of the three bears -- first the kitchen, then the bedroom.

Narrators : This is the story of Goldilocks and the three Bears.
This is Goldilocks. Hello Goldilocks.
And this is her Mom.
Mom: Stay in the garden Goldilocks.
Goldilocks: Ok
Narrators: Where are you going Goldilocks? Oh! Goldilocks goes out of the garden and into the forest. Goldilocks likes the forest. It’s her favourite place.

Let's take a walk in the jungle.

Narrators: In the middle of the forest, there was a very old tree. It’s a very big tree with a yellow door. The three bears live here, Daddy Bear, Mommy Bear, and Baby Bear. The three bears like porridge. They eat it for breakfast every day.
Daddy Bear: I like porridge.
Mommy Bear: I like porridge too.
Baby Bear: Porridge is yummy.
The Three Bears: I like porridge! I like porridge! Yum, yum yum!
Baby Bear: It’s yummy.
Narrators: But today the porridge is hot.
Daddy Bear: It’s too hot.
Mommy Bear: Oh! It’s very hot.
Baby Bear: Aw! It’s too hot.
Daddy Bear: Let’s go for a walk.
Narrators: …said Daddy Bear. So the three bears go for a walk.

Narrators: Oh! There’s Goldilocks! Hello, Goldilocks.
Goldilocks: Hello!
Narrators: Are you going home now?
Which way is home?
Goldilocks: It’s this way. I think…
Narrators: Goldilocks is sad. She’s hungry. And she’s tired.
What can you see Goldilocks? It’s a yellow door. Where are you going Goldilocks?
Oh! Goldilocks! She walks through the door. So she went to the house and knocked at the door.
Goldilocks: It seems like there´s nobody home… the door is open.
Narrators: And she walked right in. Goldilocks enters and approaches the table. On the table are 3 bowls of porridge and 3 chairs behind, decreasing in size.
First she tried Papa's porridge.
Goldilocks: Too hot!
Narrators: Next she tried Mama's porridge.
Goldilocks: Too cold!
Narrators: Last she tried Baby's porridge.
Goldilocks: Just right!
Narrators: Goldilocks sits and eats greedily. And she ate it all up.

Goldilocks: I am so tired!  I´ll sit in one of those chairs and rest for a while… then I will leave.
Narrators: So, Goldilocks sat in the first chair.
Goldilocks: This chair is too big! .
Narrators: So she sat in the second chair.
Goldilocks: This chair is too big, too!
Narrators: So she tried the last and smallest chair.
Goldilocks: Ahhh, this chair is just right.
Narrators: But just as she settled down into the chair to rest, it broke into pieces!
Goldilocks: Ahhhhhhhh!!
Goldilocks: Oops! Well, it's time for a nap.
Narrators: Goldilocks was very tired by this time, so she went upstairs to the bedroom. She lay down in the first bed.
Goldilocks: This bed is too hard.
Narrators: Then she lay down in the second bed.
Goldilocks: This bed is too soft.
Narrators: Then she lay down in the third bed.
Goldilocks: Just right!
Narrators: Goldilocks fell asleep.

Narrators: As she was sleeping, the three bears came home and went into the kitchen.
Papa Bear: Someone’s been eating my soup.
Mama Bear: Someone’s been eating my soup, too
Baby Bear: Someone’s been eating my soup, and they ate it all up!
Narrators: Then the tree bears went into the Living Room.
Papa Bear: Someone’s been sitting in my chair!
Momma Bear: Someone’s been sitting in my chair, too!
Baby Bear: Someone’s been sitting in my chair, and broke it!
Narrators: Then the three bears decided to look around some more and when they got upstairs to the bedroom.
Papa Bear: Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!
Mama Bear: Someone’s been sleeping in my bed, too!


Baby Bear: Someone’s been sleeping in my bed, and she’s still there!

Narrators: Just then, Goldilocks woke up and saw the three bears.
Goldilocks: Help!
Narrators: And she jumped up and ran out of the room. Goldilocks ran down the stairs, opened the door, and ran away into the forest. And she never returned to the home of the three bears.
Three Bears: Good-byeeeeeeee!! (waving their hands together)

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Greetings!
             
Please, be reminded of the following:
1.      Provide Turkish-English Dictionary for your child. Disregard this reminder if your kids already got one.
2. Your child needs to submit one English story book with colored illustrations/pictures.
3.      We are aiming to promote English communication skills among our students. In this regards, we are encouraging them to read English story books, watch English TV programs or even English movies with English subtitle. Those are good starters for them. Please guide them at home in doing those things.
